“HomeStrong USA is a nonprofit community development organization with a mission to Increase vitality and stability of communities across the nation by promoting successful home ownership through education and counseling, the creation of innovative affordable housing opportunities, and providing resources to local nonprofit counseling agencies.”

“Through HomeStrong USA and its partnerships, strengthened communities in America have overcome significant economic challenges while promoting positive and sustainable changes to affordable housing.”

Education & Counseling:

By participating in HomeStrong USA Homebuyer Education Workshops and their individualized counseling services, potential homebuyers learn the necessary tools to become successful long-term homeowners. HomeStrong USA provides Financial Literacy Workshops and counseling to help prepare families for sustainable homeownership by teaching them how to budget their finances and improving their credit. In an effort to preserve homeownership, HomeStrong USA provides homeownership retention counseling as well as foreclosure prevention workshops. Homeownership retention services are aimed to help prevent foreclosures by exploring individual’s financial options and acting as a liaison between the customer and lender. HomeStrong USA targets low and moderate-income individuals but the doors are open to anyone in need of assistance, especially due to the high demand for homeownership retention counseling.

Housing Opportunities:

HomeStrong USA is improving the quality of life in communities by focusing on neighborhood revitalization. By partnering with government entities and developers, HomeStrong USA is acquiring or facilitating the acquisition of vacant REO, rehabilitating to high standards, and making them only available to owner-occupied low and moderate-income buyers. Investors are not allowed to purchase the homes rehabilitated through the HomeStrong USA development program.

Resources to Local Counseling Organizations:

HomeStrong USA strongly believes in supporting local nonprofit housing counseling agencies across the nation in order to encourage the availability of face-to-face counseling. In a time when organizations are struggling to keep up with counseling demand in their communities, HomeStrong USA is providing resources that will enable them to grow their capacity and provide more effective and efficient counseling services.
